Check if the battery and the AC adapter is getting detected in the Bios. Press the F2 key at the Dell Logo on startup, to enter the BIOS, under General select Battery information, check what it says next to Battery Health, and AC Adapter, if ac adapter says not installed, try another AC adapter. If still no go, then it could be a motherboard issue.
