Dell Inspiron 5100 COMPUTER FAILURE After Installing the Hard Drive

Any help will really appreciated
I've got this used Dell inspiron 5150 laptop with battery, memory, without hard drive and ac adapter.
When I first time turned on laptop it had on it screen image with " intel inside Pentium 4 " and progress bar after that black screen appeared with one or two sentences, like can't boot up, press F1 to retry or F2 to enter setup, at that point computer did not have hard drive.
I did press F2 to setup and check all bios pages/screens and battery status, everything was ok.
I turned computer off.
Then i did install used hard drive from dell inspiron 5100 and turn inspiron 5150 computer on , used hard drive had Win xp home edition and some files on it, black screen appeared with many sentences and words asking questions like " ... start in normal mode, safety mode " ...etc, I chose safety mode and enter, next moment laptop got blue screen with messages like " ... check for viruses or if new hardware installed check them .... "
I turned computer off and then turned it back on , 3 leds just above the keyboard did not light on at all and computer had only empty black screen, if I pressing any keys nothing happening, only two lights on front edge of laptop on, power on and battery status, sometimes one. Unable to access Bios. In order to turn computer off I need to take out battery, it doesn't turn off by power button.
What could happened with laptop and how to fix it ?
Do not think laptop could went bad or get viruses only because I did insert in it a hard drive ( hard drive was from other laptop ).
I've read that dell laptops can get locked by itself, if it is so what is a process for unlocking and how to unlock it ?
